Yes – generic inlets lack the 40A-rated 10 AWG HPP+ connection that the Yeti PRO 4000 requires. At $12.49 with coupon savings, this is the best-value warrantied option.
Mounted this bulkhead inlet on the side of my Class C and ran the HPP+ cable inside to the Yeti PRO 4000. Now I can plug in my ground-deployed panels without opening a window or running cords through the door. The 10 AWG wiring handles full current with zero voltage sag. Install took me an afternoon with a hole saw and some sealant. This is how portable solar should have worked from day one.
Solid bulkhead, weather cap fits tight. Charging my Yeti PRO from outside the rig now, no more open windows.
Quality feels great and the weather cap seals well. Double-check your panel thickness before drilling because the flange has limits. Happy overall.
Works perfectly.
The inlet itself is well made and the connection to my Yeti is solid. Figuring out the wiring took some trial and error since the included documentation is minimal. If you're comfortable with basic electrical work you'll be fine.
I deployed my panels on the ground at camp, plugged into this inlet, and had the Yeti PRO 4000 charging at full tilt all day. The 12.5 inch cable gave me just enough slack to position the unit in my bay. No heat issues at 40A rating with my array. Neighbors kept asking where I got it.
The bulkhead housing feels like it will outlast my RV. Sealed it with Dicor and it's held up through two rainstorms. No complaints.
The inlet charges fine, but the rubber weather cap doesn't seat flush on my install and I'm worried about water ingress over time. Had to rig a small cover over it. Not what I expected from Goal Zero.
Did a full van build and this bulkhead inlet made the solar hookup look factory-installed. The 40A headroom means I can upgrade my panels later without swapping the port. Cable quality is excellent. Highly recommend for anyone doing a serious van or RV solar setup.
Dragging cables through the door every campsite was getting old. Installed this inlet, wired it to my Yeti PRO 4000, and now solar hookup takes thirty seconds. Wish I'd found it sooner.
