Cobra Dual Mirror Mount, Cable, and CB Antenna Kit

Kit had everything I needed.

Installed this dual mirror mount kit on my Freightliner last weekend. SWR came in at 1.2 on channel 1 and 1.3 on 40 after a quick tune, and the coax is quality stuff with proper connectors. Talking skip and local traffic both come through noticeably better than with my old single setup. Half off made it a no-brainer.

The components are solid — mounts are heavy-gauge steel, cable is well-made, and the antennas feel durable. My criticism is the instruction sheet, which is basically a diagram with no tuning guidance. If you've installed a CB before you'll be fine; first-timers should watch a video on setting dual antenna SWR. End result: 1.4 SWR across the band and clear transmissions.

Switched from a cheap single magnet-mount antenna to this kit and the difference is night and day. My radio keys up cleaner, drivers respond to me, and I can actually hear gate check-ins from the yard. The mirror mounts are beefy and haven't shifted after three weeks of rough roads. Should've done this years ago.

The mounts and cables are good quality, no argument there. Getting the SWR down took me an hour of trimming, though — the antennas came in around 2.8 out of the box. Once tuned, performance is genuinely good, so I'd rate the installed result five stars but the setup experience lower. Buy it if you're willing to tune properly.

Runs great on my day cab, mounts clamped tight to the mirror arms with no wobble after 8,000 miles. Coax lengths are pre-cut and matched which saves guesswork. I docked a star because one of the rubber grommets was missing in my box — PowerHaven shipped a replacement quickly. Would buy again.

I'm 62 and been running CBs since the 70s. This kit reminded me why duals were always the way to go. Everything screwed together logically, the fit and finish is Cobra quality, and my transmission reports improved immediately. Old-timer approved.

Install went fine and the system worked well for a few weeks. Then I went through an automatic truck wash and the left antenna's top section snapped off — the fiberglass base bent but the whip itself sheared. Maybe I should have removed them, but I've run other whips through washes without issue. Disappointed for a product marketed as durable.

For $44.98 this kit beats buying the components separately by a wide margin. Coax is pre-cut to matched lengths, hardware is all included, and my SWR check came back clean on the first try. The rig sounds better than it has in years. Highly recommend for anyone running a single antenna now.
