Cobra Radar Detector Hardwire Kit – Fuse Box to Barrel Connector Direct 12V Power Install with 11.5ft Cable

Hardwired my RAD 480i behind the mirror using this kit and it looks factory. The 11.5ft cable was more than enough to route down the A-pillar and under the headliner. Fuse tap went in easily and the detector powers on with ignition every time.

Ten minutes with a trim tool and my dash is finally clean. Barrel connector fits the Cobra detector perfectly.

Quality wiring and the barrel connector is solid. Note that you'll need your own fuse tap/add-a-circuit for most vehicles — the kit assumes you have one. Once that's sorted, the install is straightforward.

Long enough cable for my F-150 supercrew with plenty left over. Power is consistent, no error beeps from the detector. Should have done this years ago instead of the cigarette lighter cord.

The kit itself is fine — good wire gauge, correct connector. But the included instructions are basically a diagram with almost no explanation. If you've never pulled a fuse panel trim piece before, watch a YouTube video first.

I'm no electrician but this made me feel like one. Cable hides beautifully along the headliner, and having the detector switch on and off with the car is so much nicer than remembering to unplug it.

The 11.5 feet sounds excessive until you actually route it — turns out it's just right for a pickup. Connections feel secure and my detector hasn't glitched once in two months.

Bought this mostly so my phone charger could have the lighter socket back. Bonus: the dash looks way cleaner. Install was simple on my Civic.

Ended up returning it — the barrel connector size didn't match my older Cobra model despite the listing suggesting compatibility. Seller refund was smooth at least. Double-check your detector's power port before ordering.

At under $15 with the coupon this is the cheapest visual upgrade you can do to your car's interior. Quality wire, proper connector, everything you need besides a fuse tap and some patience. Highly recommend.
