How to Program the Auxiliary Input on a Victron BMV-702
The second (auxiliary) input can be programmed through the setup menu to measure battery temperature, midpoint voltage, or the voltage of a second battery. Set function P07 (or via setup flags) to select the aux input mode, then assign alarm thresholds for midpoint deviation or low voltage as needed.

Choose midpoint voltage monitoring on the aux input to detect imbalance between series battery groups — the display alerts you when midpoint deviation exceeds your configured alarm threshold.
Shunt Wiring on the Negative Side
Wire the 500A shunt on the negative side of the battery bank: battery negative to the shunt's battery-side bolt, all system loads and chargers to the load-side bolt, and the monitor's black B1 cable to the battery side. The enclosed shunt housing protects against high-voltage exposure.
